A 24-year-old man was fatally stabbed outside a Knightsbridge luxury hotel around 21:30 BST on Wednesday

A 24-year-old man was fatally stabbed outside the five-star Park Tower Hotel on Seville Street in Knightsbridge, west London, just before 21:30 BST on Wednesday night. Emergency services—including paramedics, police and London’s Air Ambulance—rushed to the scene but the victim died at the location. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the man suffered knife wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made, and detectives are working to establish the circumstances, including whether the attack was a robbery. A spokesperson for the hotel stated neither guests nor staff were involved.

The area is known for its luxury shopping, upscale residences, and landmarks like Harrods and Hyde Park. Police have closed off the pavement in front of the hotel and the nearby Nusr-Et restaurant, run by Turkish chef Nusret Gokce, famously known as Salt Bae.

Officers have launched an investigation into a possible robbery. Superintendent Owen Renowden, who leads policing in Kensington and Chelsea, said: “Although this is an active line of inquiry, we are keeping an open mind about all possible motives.” He assured the local community that extra officers will patrol the area to offer reassurance and gather information.

Tributes have begun to appear at the scene, with flowers and bouquets placed nearby on Seville Street. Victim support is being provided to the family by specialist officers, and they have been formally notified of the death.

London Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, Kaya Comer‑Schwartz, described the stabbing as “appalling” and confirmed there will be “increased high‑visibility police patrols” in the immediate aftermath. She added: “Knife crime has no place in our streets or communities.” The last comparable attack in the vicinity occurred in July 2021, when a 20-year-old Omani student, Mohammed Al‑Araimi, was stabbed to death outside Harrods during an attempted watch robbery. The perpetrator, Badir Al‑Nazi, was sentenced to a minimum of 27 years.

Investigators stress the importance of public assistance in shedding light on the incident. CCTV footage, witness accounts, and mobile phone footage from the surrounding streets and the hotel area may prove vital as part of the ongoing inquiry.

As the investigation continues, local residents and businesses remain anxious about safety in what is typically a serene and prestigious part of London. The stabbing adds a grim note to Knightsbridge’s reputation and raises pressing questions about security and violence in affluent districts.
