New book exposes Meghan’s alleged clashes with royal traditions
Explosive claims in a new royal book accuse Meghan Markle of being “too friendly” with both a junior palace staffer and even Prince William, adding to the controversies surrounding her time in the UK.
According to Yes Ma’am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants by Tom Quinn, Meghan’s warm and informal nature clashed with the rigid expectations of the royal household. A former palace insider revealed that Meghan’s arrival unsettled the so-called “old guard,” who viewed her American attitude as disruptive.

Meghan’s interactions with staff reportedly raised eyebrows, with claims that she befriended a junior staffer in ways deemed inappropriate by royal standards. But even more shockingly, the book alleges that Meghan’s affectionate nature extended to Prince William, with frequent hugs and kisses on the cheek whenever they met.
“The hugging and touchy-feeliness fuelled gossip among staff that Meghan was flirting with William,” a source claimed. While there was no suggestion of romantic intent, the resulting speculation reportedly worsened the already strained relationship between William and Harry.
William, known for his more reserved nature, allegedly struggled to handle Meghan’s open displays of affection. “His rather awkward personality, inherited from his father, made Meghan’s spontaneity baffling to him,” the book suggests.
With these fresh revelations, royal watchers are left questioning—was Meghan unfairly targeted by palace traditions, or did her approach create unnecessary tensions? Whatever the case, her time in the royal family remains as controversial as ever.
