Emilio Garcia, a former employee, claims the rapper created a hostile work environment and forced him to witness sexual acts

Megan Thee Stallion faces a lawsuit filed by her former cameraman, Emilio Garcia, who alleges that the rapper sexually harassed him and fostered a hostile work environment. The lawsuit was lodged in the Los Angeles County Superior Court on April 23, 2024, naming Stallion, her companies Hot Girl Touring LLC, Megan Thee Stallion Entertainment, Inc., and Roc Nation as defendants.

According to Garcia, the incident that forms the basis of his allegations occurred in June 2022 in Spain. He describes being confined in a moving vehicle with Stallion as she engaged in sexual activities with an unidentified woman. Garcia claims that Stallion instructed him never to discuss what he witnessed, subsequently subjecting him to verbal abuse and derogatory comments regarding his weight.

The photographer elaborates that the severity of the harassment contributed to an abusive work environment that rendered his working conditions unbearable. He recounted feeling “embarrassed, mortified, and offended” by the ordeal, which left him feeling uncomfortable and shocked.

In addition to the harassment claims, Garcia contends that there were financial discrepancies during his tenure with Stallion. He alleges improper payment practices, asserting he was misclassified as an independent contractor, which deprived him of healthcare benefits and overtime pay. He also claims that his work conditions lacked sufficient breaks and rest periods.

Garcia, who began working with Stallion in 2018 and transitioned to a full-time role in 2019, aired his grievances about his employment conditions to Stallion. Following his complaints, he was terminated from his position in June 2023.

Megan Thee Stallion, through her lawyer Alex Spiro, responded to the allegations, indicating that she intends to contest the claims in court. Spiro emphasized that the legal action is primarily an employment claim seeking financial compensation, and accused Garcia of including sensationalist allegations to tarnish Stallion’s reputation.

The rapper’s legal team is preparing to address the claims directly in court proceedings. As the case unfolds, further details are expected to emerge regarding the allegations and the defences that will be presented.
