Blasts erupt in Lahore, Pakistan, a day after India’s airstrike on terror camps in PoK

These blasts followed just a day after India launched Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory strike on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Witnesses reported seeing smoke rising from the blast sites, and panic spread quickly through the area. Visuals showed people fleeing their homes, and local reports confirmed that flights from Sialkot, Karachi, and Lahore airports were temporarily suspended as a precaution. Authorities speculated that the explosions may have been caused by a drone, which was reportedly shot down after being intercepted by jammed systems.
The blasts in Lahore occurred just a day after India’s airstrike destroyed terror camps linked to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Pakistan and PoK. The joint operation by the Indian Army and Indian Air Force (IAF) used Rafale jets and surface-to-surface missiles, reportedly killing 80-90 terrorists. India has stressed that no Pakistani military infrastructure was targeted and that the operation was executed carefully to avoid civilian casualties.
However, Pakistan’s response was swift and condemnatory, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif calling the strikes an “act of war”. Pakistan’s official narrative claims that the Indian attacks killed civilians, including women and children, despite evidence from India showing targeted strikes on terrorist infrastructure.
Tensions escalated further when the Pakistani military retaliated with artillery fire along the Line of Control (LoC), targeting Indian civilian areas in Poonch-Rajouri. This retaliatory fire resulted in the death of 15 civilians on the Indian side, exacerbating the already volatile situation.
