Katy Perry announces an earlier start time for her tour shows, adjusting to life as a mum.
Katy Perry is gearing up for the U.S. leg of her Lifetime Tour, kicking off on May 7, but this time, she’s making a big change. The pop superstar has revealed that her concerts will start earlier—marking a significant shift in her touring schedule, all because of her 4-year-old daughter, Daisy Bloom.
In a recent chat with Access Hollywood, Perry explained her decision, acknowledging that motherhood has altered the way she approaches touring. Unlike past performances that typically started at 9:00 PM, her new shows will begin at 8:30 PM to accommodate not just her own child but also the many parents who bring their little ones along.
“She’ll be there for part of it, but I think what I’m really going to implement is an earlier time show,” Perry shared, referring to Daisy’s presence on tour.
The Firework singer elaborated on the reasoning, noting the chaos that can ensue when kids attend late-night concerts. “Sometimes those shows are on weekdays, and they go to school the next day. They probably will have some sugar at the show, they’ll be with their friends, and everybody will be super excited. So it’s going to be an 8:30 show.”
Fans have reacted with mixed emotions—some appreciate the thoughtfulness behind the change, while others worry about missing out on the high-energy, late-night experience Perry’s performances are known for. However, the singer is firm in her decision, emphasising that it’s all part of finding balance between being a global pop icon and a devoted mother.
Perry shares her daughter Daisy with fiancé Orlando Bloom. Since welcoming her in 2020, she has been open about the ways parenthood has transformed her priorities. While she continues to dominate the music industry, it’s clear that being a mum comes first. With the Lifetime Tour set to be one of the biggest pop spectacles of the year, Perry’s decision signals a new era—not just for her, but for touring artists juggling family life. Fans can still expect dazzling performances, powerhouse vocals, and all the over-the-top theatrics Perry is known for—just at a slightly earlier hour.
