“Reality star recalls marriage turmoil, saying her ex’s management left her feeling sidelined”

Katie Price has described her marriage to Peter Andre as a relationship with “three of us” involved, claiming she has endured “16 years of hell” since their split.

The 47-year-old reality star opened up during the launch of her joint stage tour with Kerry Katona, where the pair entertained a Fleetwood audience with stories of fame, family life and failed romances.

When Kerry, 45, joked about introducing Katie Price to the Mysterious Girl singer during I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2004, Price reflected on how the relationship unravelled despite its fairy-tale beginnings.

Katie and Peter married in 2005 but divorced in 2009 after four years together. Speaking at Marine Hall, she claimed the biggest challenge in their marriage was Andre’s management team, whom she accused of interfering in their relationship.

“Well, he had a manager,” she said. “When I came out, because I wanted to be with Pete and Pete wanted to be with me, I needed to be careful how I word things now.”

Her words echoed Princess Diana’s infamous 1995 Panorama interview, in which Diana remarked that there were “three of us in this marriage” when discussing King Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, now Queen Camilla.

Katie said she still has fond memories of her time with Peter, but described the aftermath as torturous. “Since the divorce, it’s been 16 years of hell,” she admitted.

The couple’s marriage was one of the most publicised celebrity unions of the 2000s. They capitalised on their fame with reality shows, magazine deals and music collaborations before their split became equally public. Their separation was finalised in late 2009, only months after their marriage officially ended.

Katie has frequently accused Andre’s management of exerting undue influence, suggesting they played a role in driving a wedge between them. She also claimed that the career guidance Andre received when he left the jungle was part of what changed the dynamic between them.

On stage, Price emphasised that she entered the marriage wanting to prioritise her relationship, but felt undermined by outside interference. “I wanted to be with Pete, and Pete wanted to be with me,” she said, but added that the presence of his management effectively created a third party within the marriage.

Despite the bitterness, Price admitted there were positives, particularly the birth of their two children, Junior and Princess, who remain at the heart of both parents’ lives.

Her remarks, however, reignite a long-running feud with Andre, who has largely remained tight-lipped in recent years about the collapse of their relationship. Now 52, he has built a stable family life with his wife, Emily, with whom he shares two children.

The “Evening with Katie and Kerry” tour marks a new chapter for Price, offering her the chance to reflect publicly on her turbulent past. With her long-time friend Katona by her side, the event mixes humour with raw honesty about their personal struggles.

For Katie, though, the shadow of her marriage to Peter Andre continues to loom large. By evoking Diana’s words, she underscored the depth of her frustration and the lingering scars of a relationship she insists was never just between two people.
