Jennifer Lopez ignites the 2025 AMAs with a six-minute dance medley and shocking dancer kiss-off.

Jennifer Lopez stunned viewers and ignited social media chatter at the 2025 American Music Awards by opening the show with a jaw-dropping dance medley that included not one—but three—steamy kisses with her backup dancers.

The Las Vegas ceremony began with a close-up of Lopez singing a slowed, sensual version of her 2012 hit Dance Again. From there, she whisked the audience into a dazzling “multiverse” of love, sex, and the biggest hits of the year.

For six action-packed minutes, Lopez flew across the stage, weaving through a medley of 23 chart-topping songs. She showed off her skills to Kendrick Lamar’s Squabble Up and Doechii’s Denial Is a River, then hit the spotlight with A Bar Song by Shaboozey and Bruno Mars and Rosé’s viral TikTok dance hit APT.

The energy only intensified as Lopez combined Chappell Roan’s Hot to Go and Good Luck, Babe in a fiery mash-up, even fanning herself during Roan’s sultry lyrics. She channelled both Billie Eilish and Beyoncé with Birds of a Feather and Texas Hold’Em, blending haunting vocals and powerhouse dance moves seamlessly.

The performance’s peak was a gravity-defying, Dancing with the Stars-style dance break to Bad Bunny’s NuevaYol, complete with flips that left the crowd breathless.

But the moment that grabbed the headlines was the seductive kiss-off. As she danced to Teddy Swims’ Lose Control, Lopez locked lips with three of her dancers in rapid succession, heightening the show’s already electric atmosphere. The kiss sequence transitioned into her commanding presence on Tinashe’s Nasty, where she reminded everyone she was “a nasty girl” indeed.

Lopez wrapped up her futuristic performance with a mash-up of Lamar’s Not Like Us and TV Off, paying tribute to the rapper who led the night’s nominations.

After the performance, Lopez spoke directly to fans: “I had to kick things off by turning it up to the biggest songs of the year and dancing my heart out for all of you, but tonight, the spotlight belongs to you, because this is the world’s largest fan-voted award show where you decide the winners. And this year, yes, there were more votes than ever before.”

This marked Lopez’s return as AMAs host after a decade, recalling her iconic 2015 stint where she dazzled with multiple costume changes and a seven-minute dance medley featuring the year’s biggest hits like Beyoncé’s 7/11 and Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud.

Notably, Lopez revealed prior to the show that she had sustained a nose injury during rehearsals, requiring an emergency visit to Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr Jason B. Diamond. Sharing the story on Instagram, she thanked him for stitching her up and assured fans that after a week of healing and “a whole lotta ice,” she was ready to perform.

Her dazzling, kiss-filled AMA opener not only reminded the world why she remains pop royalty but also sparked a flurry of reactions, cementing the 2025 AMAs as a night to remember.
