In a bid to gain an extra four inches in height, Colombian influencer Yeferson Cossio, 29, has found himself in unrelenting pain following leg lengthening surgery, which aimed to elevate him from 5ft 8″ to 6ft.

Despite the hefty price tag of COP 200 million to 700 million ($51,200 to $179,200), Cossio’s pursuit of stature enhancement has taken a toll on his well-being. The intricate surgical procedure involves breaking the legs, inserting metal rods, and gradually extending the limbs through an external remote control.

Four months post-surgery, Cossio’s recovery has been far from smooth. The influencer confesses to struggling with sleep, averaging a mere two hours due to persistent leg pain. Sleeping pills have proven ineffective, leaving him fatigued and distressed.

“I’m very nervous, I want this to end, but it’s not possible yet,” Cossio lamented, expressing concerns about the intensity of the ongoing pain.

Voicing apprehension about his future, Cossio wonders whether there will come a breaking point where his body can no longer endure the excruciating pain. The continuous agony prompts fears of physical and mental collapse.

Facing online criticism and trolling for undergoing the surgery and the significant expense involved, Cossio defended himself, acknowledging his body image insecurities and his financial ability to address them.

“I have a complex – like almost all human beings – about a part of my body and I have a couple of hundred million pesos to change what I don’t like,” he responded to the online hate.
