Studolodon hunt: How to catch Fisch’s Lego megalodon before it vanishes

Find the Studolodon near any island in Fisch’s first sea using Brickford’s rod and stud bait

Fisch players, brace yourselves — the mighty Studolodon has surfaced in the First Sea. Part of Fisch’s new Lego crossover event, this elusive fish blends blocky charm with shark-like menace, and you’ll need more than luck to catch it. If you’re eyeing that limited-time Arctic Explorer boat or trying to complete Brickford’s Lego bestiary, this guide breaks down exactly how to hook a Studolodon before it disappears.

Begin with Brickford’s Lego Quest

The Studolodon doesn’t spawn until you start Brickford’s Lego quest in Moosewood. This quest unlocks the two essential items:

  • The Brick Built Rod
  • The Stud Bait

These are non-negotiable—no other gear can catch a Studolodon, and regular bait won’t attract it.

Where It Spawns

The Studolodon is a roaming rare—it can appear near any random island in the First Sea. However, it has a clear weather preference: rainy conditions. To increase spawn chances, players must alternate between Tempest and Smokescreen totems, which simulate stormy weather and confuse the sea’s spawn cycle.

When a Studolodon spawns, a server message will pop up:

“A Studolodon has been spotted somewhere around (Island Name).”

Once that message appears, don’t waste time—jump in your fastest boat and head to the island.

Spotting the Fishing Zone

After reaching the island, activate your fish radar and circle the shoreline. Look for a red-hued area marked:

“LEGO – Studolodon Pool”

This is your only chance to catch the beast. But be warned: the Studolodon won’t bite just anything.

Catching the Studolodon: The Hard Part

Even when in the correct zone, catching it is a challenge:

  • The Brick Built Rod is mandatory
  • Your rod suffers from a -85% progress penalty
  • The fish only responds to Stud Bait

To fight back, you’ll want to enchant the rod with either:

  • Resilience: helps control the rod under pressure
  • Mystical: boosts overall stats for stability

These buffs are essential to counter the Studolodon’s erratic movement.

Boosting Your Chances

To improve your odds:

  • Switch to a private server – no competition and faster resets
  • Use Aurora Totems – may increase rare pool rates
  • Get Merlin’s Luck – a buff that improves catch speed
  • Use Robux for bait packs or weather control boosts

The Studolodon is a limited-rarity fish; persistence and preparation are everything.

What Comes Next?

Once caught, the Studolodon checks off one of the key entries in Brickford’s Lego bestiary. Complete the set, and you’ll unlock the Arctic Explorer boat, a Lego-themed vessel exclusive to this event.

So, whether you’re a casual fisher or a hardcore collector, don’t miss your shot at taming Fisch’s plastic sea beast before the event ends.
