Yonkers thief meets pavement courtesy of vigilant Samaritan and quick-witted cops

The Good Samaritan, having witnessed the pursuit, took matters into his own hands, knocking Mateo to the ground and allowing the pursuing officers to apprehend him.

Mateo now faces charges of Grand Larceny 4th and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th, both felonies, along with other misdemeanors. Remarkably, at his arraignment, he was released on his own recognizance.
