Heidi Klum dazzles and horrifies, Hollywood as a life-like Medusa at her iconic Halloween bash
Halloween in Hollywood means one thing: Heidi Klum’s annual party, the star-studded spectacle that has long set the bar for spooky season extravagance. And this year, the self-crowned Queen of Halloween outdid even herself.
The 52-year-old supermodel arrived late to her legendary bash at the Hard Rock Hotel in Los Angeles, but it was worth the wait. Emerging from the darkness in a shimmering green costume, Klum transformed into a life-sized Medusa, complete with slithering, moving snakes that writhed from her headpiece and a forked tongue she gleefully flashed at photographers.
“I warned everyone it would be very ugly,” she teased online before the reveal, and true to her word, her monstrous masterpiece was a jaw-dropper. Designed in collaboration with Oscar-nominated prosthetics genius Mike Marino, the look reportedly took more than 35 artists and hours of meticulous work to assemble.
Her husband, Tom Kaulitz, played the perfect supporting role — quite literally. He arrived as a man turned to stone, frozen mid-battle after daring to look Medusa in the eye. Dressed in grey body paint and armour, the Tokio Hotel guitarist completed the tableau as the two posed together in an eerie, living sculpture moment.
But the Queen of Halloween wasn’t the only one who brought her A-game. Stars from across the entertainment world turned up in outlandish and often hilarious costumes that kept social media buzzing well into the night.
Rapper Ice-T and Coco Austin leaned into pure horror, arriving as a murderous duo. Ice-T wore a blood-spattered white mask and red hooded jumpsuit, clutching plastic weapons, while Coco channelled Chucky with bright red hair, a denim playsuit, and the haunting tagline “Wanna play?” scrawled across her chest.
Glee’s Darren Criss and wife Mia Swier brought humour to the carpet with a Shrek-themed ensemble. Criss donned prosthetic green makeup, a round belly, and the familiar ogre ears, while Swier opted to be Puss in Boots instead of Princess Fiona, pairing a cape with playful feline accessories.
Meanwhile, Maye Musk, the mother of billionaire Elon Musk, radiated villainous glamour as Cruella de Vil. Dressed in black leather, lace, and the character’s iconic black-and-white wig, the 77-year-old model proved she could still steal a red carpet.
Elsewhere, La La Anthony and Damson Idris turned heads at a separate Manhattan Halloween gala, while Julia Fox sparked outrage for dressing as a blood-soaked Jackie Kennedy — a look many online called “distasteful.”
Demi Lovato, ever the meme queen, poked fun at herself by recreating her 2015 viral alter ego “Poot Lovato,” complete with the awkward basement lighting that made the original photo internet legend.
The Kardashian clan didn’t disappoint either. Kourtney Kardashian Barker paid tribute to the Bride of Frankenstein, while Kim Kardashian’s daughter North West joined friends to dress as Japanese pop-metal band BABYMETAL.
Paris Hilton embraced early-2000s nostalgia by recreating Britney Spears’ iconic Oops!… I Did It Again look, while Keke Palmer channelled rapper Snoop Dogg in full tracksuit, wig, and swagger — even lip-synching to Gin and Juice.
In a more tongue-in-cheek turn, Amelia Dimoldenberg dressed up as “the divorce of Lily Allen and David Harbour,” donning a sheriff’s outfit in tribute to Harbour’s Stranger Things role while listening to Allen’s breakup-themed album through headphones.
Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran was almost unrecognisable as Pennywise the Clown, complete with red balloons and chilling grin, proving even pop royalty isn’t immune to horror season’s lure.
From Mariah Carey’s pastel anime look to Lizzo’s mozzarella stick costume (“so cheesy,” as she put it), the night was a showcase of Hollywood’s wildest imaginations.
Yet, as always, Heidi Klum reigned supreme. Every Halloween, she turns transformation into performance art — and this year’s serpentine Medusa may be her most unforgettable yet.
