Harry and Meghan’s ‘magnetism’ drives fortune-building agenda, expert claims

Expert says Sussexes’ fortune stems from royal ‘magnetism’ used to power personal media empire.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s continued global influence is no accident, says a royal expert who believes their extraordinary magnetism has fuelled their financial empire and personal brand.

Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have inked multi-million-pound deals with streaming giants like Netflix and Spotify. They’ve launched books, docuseries, and podcasts—amassing a vast fortune and a reputation that keeps critics and supporters alike enthralled.

According to royal editor Russell Myers, their success, while divisive, is deeply tied to the fascination surrounding their post-royal journey. Speaking to the Mirror, Myers explained: “The Sussexes signed eye-watering deals with streaming giants Netflix and Spotify. Meghan wrote a children’s book, Harry penned a punchy memoir—all of it earned them an absolute fortune.”

Myers insists that their immense earning power is rooted not just in content but in personality. “Love them or loathe them,” he said, “their early successes were no doubt a result of the magnetism of the couple and the incredible interest as to what they would do next.”

That magnetism, however, remains controversial—especially when it appears intertwined with royal branding.

Despite stepping away from their working royal roles, both Harry and Meghan retain their Duke and Duchess titles. Myers pointed out that Meghan’s recent business moves have once again sparked accusations of title-trading, something the couple were reportedly warned against when they left the royal fold.

“Meghan’s representatives have suggested the couple do not use the HRH publicly,” he noted, “even though their titles remain.”

Still, the question remains: are they leveraging royal prestige for personal gain, or simply forging a new path with tools they already possess?

Prince Harry is reportedly considering a follow-up to his explosive memoir Spare, which sent shockwaves through Buckingham Palace upon its release. He also continues to wage a legal battle with the UK government over his taxpayer-funded security—another move Myers suggests reflects deep personal convictions.

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle continues to explore commercial opportunities, often facing backlash from royal traditionalists who argue she’s still leaning on her former royal identity to advance her ventures.

Yet Myers takes a more tempered stance: “To begrudge Harry and Meghan the opportunity to build a life for themselves is worthless and unfair,” he said. “The decisions they made were for the benefit of them as a family and a future beyond the one they saw in front of them.”

The Sussexes, now based in California, remain a lightning rod in both British and American media—hailed by some as modern trailblazers and dismissed by others as opportunists.

But what cannot be denied is their ability to command global attention. Whether it’s through Netflix documentaries, memoir bombshells, or court battles, Harry and Meghan’s every move continues to dominate headlines.

Their magnetism—part royalty, part rebellion—may just be their most valuable asset.
