The Lithuanian boxer, known for his resilience and popularity, has left a lasting legacy in the sport.
The boxing world is in mourning following the sudden death of Lithuanian journeyman Genadij Krajevskij at the age of 37. Krajevskij, who was respected for his dedication and tough style in the ring, gained widespread recognition after facing Tommy Fury four years ago. His passing has sparked an outpouring of tributes from fans, fellow fighters, and boxing organizations.
Known for his grit and resilience, Krajevskij was a beloved figure in British boxing circles, often taking on difficult challenges in the far corner. His eight-year professional career was marked by hard-fought bouts and an admirable presence both inside and outside the ring.
Fans have described him as “one of the real characters of the fight game” and “a lovely fella,” acknowledging not only his fighting spirit but his kind nature. The British Boxing Board of Control’s Midlands Area Council paid tribute, noting that Krajevskij was a fixture at events in the region, always contributing positively to the atmosphere.
VIPBoxing Promotions expressed their sorrow, stating that Krajevskij had been a regular feature at their shows, where he earned respect for his professionalism and character. Boxing MC Phil Seymour also remembered him as “a great presence” at fight shows across the UK. Stockbridge Amateur Boxing Club paid their respects, calling him “a proper fighter.”
Despite never securing a title, Krajevskij’s influence and personality made him a standout in the sport. His reputation as a “true warrior” has left a lasting impression on those who knew him and those who watched him fight.
