Embed from Getty ImagesIn a shocking turn of events, former Coronation Street star Sean Ward, renowned for his role as Callum Logan between 2014 and 2015, now finds himself sleeping on friends’ floors after losing his job and claiming that ‘speaking out’ cost him a once very comfortable lifestyle.
The 35-year-old actor, who used to rake in an impressive £120,000 per year, struggled to find work following his controversial anti-lockdown views shared on Twitter (now called X). Ward’s career took a nosedive as he angered fans and aired opinions that set him apart from the mainstream.
Opening up about his current circumstances, Ward expressed the loneliness of his journey, citing a dark period in 2018 when he contemplated taking his own life after discovering what he termed as the “evil on this planet.” He stated, “I decided using whatever s**tty little platform I’d built through my acting career to at least try sieve through the propaganda together and thereby sabotaging my own reasonably successful career.”
From earning a substantial £120,000 annually, Ward’s income plummeted to £12,000 a year, forcing him to sleep on a mate’s mattress. Despite the challenges, Ward remains resilient, stating, “I’m still building a life to feel proud of.” He acknowledged the difficulties of the journey but emphasized the moral necessity of speaking out.
Reflecting on his tumultuous path, Ward revealed that he had to return the keys to his four-bedroom house in early 2022, putting his belongings in storage due to financial constraints. Struggling to pay the storage fees, he eventually had to sell his possessions.
Ward assured his return to acting, saying, “I always will return to acting. When the time is right. But my inner pain of losing everything that I built was hard.” He admitted to battling inner demons, especially after the loss of his Grandad, but highlighted his ongoing efforts to steer clear of destructive coping mechanisms.
Ending on a hopeful note, Ward expressed pride in overcoming challenges and offered support to those facing similar struggles. He concluded, “So I am proud of myself and anyone else feeling the same. You’re never alone. We all have shown we care. And that keeps me going. Thank you. Seany x.”
This revelation adds a new chapter to Sean Ward’s journey, highlighting the highs, lows, and the ongoing process of rebuilding a life post-controversy.
