As nationwide manhunt intensifies, revelations surface about ezedi’s past behavior

As the nationwide search for Abdul Ezedi, the suspect in the Clapham chemical attack, continues, startling revelations about his past behavior have emerged. A friend from Tyneside, where Ezedi hails from, has come forward with claims that Ezedi previously exposed himself to a woman at a bus stop, shedding light on his troubled history.

Ezedi, 35, has been evading authorities since Wednesday when he allegedly doused a mother and her two young children with a chemical in Clapham, resulting in life-changing injuries.

The Metropolitan Police, offering a £20,000 reward for information leading to his arrest, released new CCTV images capturing Ezedi’s last known movements in the City of London.

The friend, who met Ezedi while working at a takeaway restaurant, disclosed details about Ezedi’s past, including a sexual assault conviction in 2018. Despite being convicted, Ezedi did not serve jail time but was instead released with a tag on his leg.

Subsequently, he found employment and continued to send money back home, showcasing his resourcefulness and intelligence.

According to the friend, Ezedi harbored deep-seated anger following the fatal shooting of his sister by armed robbers in Afghanistan, vowing to avenge her death.

His commitment to supporting his family financially was unwavering, but suspicions arose in the neighborhood when large sums of money were traced back to him, adding a layer of complexity to his motivations.

Ezedi’s journey from Afghanistan, with two asylum applications rejected before being granted leave to remain despite his criminal record, further underscores the complexities of his case.

While friends remain baffled by the motive behind the Clapham attack, the unfolding narrative paints a portrait of a man grappling with personal tragedy and legal entanglements, now at the center of a nationwide manhunt.
