Michelle Ramage pleads guilty after inflicting 130 injuries on victim
A woman who unleashed a sadistic campaign of torture, leaving her victim with 130 injuries in a gruesome bloodbath, has been unmasked. Michelle Ramage, 43, pleaded guilty to the murder of Susan Turner, 41, after a harrowing trial that exposed the horrifying details of the brutal assault.
Ramage, fuelled by jealousy, discovered that Susan had been texting her partner, Jason Bell. Enraged, she subjected the mother to unimaginable cruelty at Bell’s flat in Ayrshire. Aided by Ryan Hill, 27, she stripped, choked, stabbed, and bludgeoned Susan in an act of sustained violence, disfiguring her body beyond recognition.
The court heard that Susan had been in frequent contact with Jason, a fact that deeply unsettled Ramage. Witnesses described her growing resentment, with Jason’s brother, Alexander, testifying that Ramage was visibly jealous and “not happy” about Susan’s continued messages. The situation escalated in the early hours of March 26, 2023, when Jason, described as a “nervous wreck,” was overheard fearing that “they are going to end up murdering her.”
That grim premonition became reality. When police arrived at the flat, a strong smell of blood filled the air. Sergeant Craig McLachlan testified that upon entering, he was met with a harrowing scene: Susan’s lifeless, mutilated body, bearing injuries across nearly every part of her form.
Despite initially denying involvement, Ramage changed her plea to guilty midway through the trial. Her co-defendant, Ryan Hill, was also convicted, while Jason Bell, 51, was accused of murder but acquitted with a ‘not proven’ verdict. Together, Ramage and Hill have nearly 50 previous convictions.
The sentencing is set for March, with prosecutors branding the attack one of the most brutal seen in recent years. The case has sparked renewed calls for stronger protections for victims of violent crime, as the community reels from the sheer savagery of Susan Turner’s final hours
