Online outrage erupts as TikTok mom-to-be reveals controversial post-pregnancy strategy.

A soon-to-be mother has found herself at the center of online criticism after revealing her plans to use the weight loss drug Ozempic while breastfeeding, sparking concerns about potential health risks.
Ozempic, primarily prescribed for Type 2 diabetes, has gained attention as a weight loss aid, despite lacking FDA approval for this purpose. The drug contains semaglutide, which can prolong feelings of fullness by slowing down food digestion. However, rare adverse effects, including intestinal blockages, have prompted warnings from the FDA.

In a viral TikTok video, Linda Andrade, known as ‘The Original Dubai Housewife’, shared her distress over pregnancy weight gain, expressing her intention to use Ozempic postpartum. Despite being nine months pregnant, Andrade lamented her recent weight increase, juxtaposing her opulent lifestyle in Dubai with her body image struggles.
However, criticism swiftly followed, with commenters accusing Andrade of prioritizing weight loss over her baby’s well-being. Concerns were raised about the drug’s potential impact on breastfeeding infants, as Ozempic’s safety during lactation remains uncertain.
While Andrade’s video highlighted her frustration with pregnancy weight gain, viewers were divided over her approach to postpartum weight management. Some empathized with her struggle, while others condemned her apparent disregard for potential risks.
Both Ozempic’s manufacturer and medical experts advise against using the drug while breastfeeding, citing insufficient data on its safety for nursing infants.
As the controversy unfolds, Andrade’s decision continues to spark debate on social media, underscoring the complex intersection of health, body image, and parenthood.
