Awaited DLC promises new adventures in the lands between
Gamers, mark your calendars for June 21. That’s when FromSoftware will unveil “Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree,” the highly anticipated expansion to the 2022 Game of the Year, Elden Ring. This news has set the gaming community abuzz with excitement.
The announcement came with the release of the expansion’s first trailer. It has given fans a glimpse into the new adventures awaiting in the Lands Between. FromSoftware teased this expansion last February. Yet, they kept details under wraps until now. The message was clear: “Rise, Tarnished, and let us walk a new path together.”
The expansion’s artwork had previously hinted at Miquella of the Haligtree. This character is a demigod and Empyrean, also known as Malenia’s twin brother. Unlike in the original game, players will get a closer look at Miquella in this DLC. He’s a pivotal figure, teased during the battle against Mohg in an unsettling scenario.
The journey in “Shadow of the Erdtree” will take players through the Land of Shadow. Here, they’ll encounter Messmer the Impaler. This new, formidable foe has a strong tie to Miquella and Malenia, promising thrilling challenges ahead.
Elden Ring fans can enjoy this expansion across several platforms. It will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. With its release, FromSoftware aims to enrich the Elden Ring universe. They’re offering fans deeper dives into its lore and new, exhilarating battles.
