In a chilling turn of events at an Aldi supermarket near Frankfurt, Germany, a 38-year-old worker, Aysel I, eerily foreshadowed her own demise at the hands of her ex-partner. Aysel had disturbingly stated previously, “I’ll go to work and won’t come home. He will come and kill me.” This ominous prediction unfolded on Monday, as Aysel was stacking shelves when her ex, Plamen P, 48, entered the store, sparking a heated argument.
The confrontation escalated when Plamen brandished a semi-automatic gun, firing fatal shots at Aysel. Shocked young children, shoppers, and employees witnessed the horrifying incident, leaving Aysel dead on the spot after at least one bullet struck her in the head. Before police arrived, Plamen turned the gun on himself, ending his life and sealing the tragic scene at the Mörfelden-Walldorf store.
Witnesses to this traumatic event have been offered counselling to cope with the aftermath.

The couple separated during a holiday in Bulgaria, and Plamen allegedly began stalking Aysel post-breakup. Aysel took several steps to protect herself, including reporting him to the police multiple times, hiring a lawyer, and obtaining a restraining order against him, as revealed by friends and family.
Plamen was scheduled to appear in court on February 15 for an alleged assault against Aysel. The assault reportedly involved an uninvited visit to her flat, where he attempted to choke her, leaving Aysel emotionally and physically scarred. Her devastated brother Altanay commented, “He destroyed her. He didn’t leave her alone. She was my only sister—such a lovely, joyful, and friendly person, dedicated to her job as a popular saleswoman.”
Authorities will now investigate how Plamen acquired the gun without a firearms licence, adding another layer to the tragic tale. In memory of Aysel, the Aldi branch, where she had worked for a year, paid tribute by placing candles at the entrance, symbolising the loss of a vibrant and cherished member of their community.
