Drake reveals career plans, headlining wireless festival in response to Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl diss.

Drake has unveiled a major career move, announcing that he will headline the Wireless Festival later this year, marking his first full UK performance in six years. This announcement comes hot on the heels of Kendrick Lamar’s jibe at the Canadian rapper during his explosive Super Bowl halftime performance, sparking further tension between the two hip-hop giants.

Set to perform at London’s Finsbury Park from July 11 to 13, Drake’s headlining role at the prestigious North London festival offers the perfect stage for a potential return diss, as he faces off with Lamar in both music and the courtroom. The two have been embroiled in a long-running feud, with the rivalry intensifying in recent months. Drake’s team is currently in a legal battle with Universal Music Group for defamation and harassment, stemming from Lamar’s diss track Not Like Us, which has only added fuel to the fire.

“This has been months in the making,” a source told The Sun, highlighting the anticipation surrounding Drake’s return to the UK stage. “Initially, no one thought they could pull it off, but Drake is fully signed on to headline all three days of Wireless. Bosses are absolutely thrilled and expect tickets to sell out fast.”

Fans of both artists have been eagerly awaiting the chance to see the two rivals clash in the public arena, and this announcement has only amplified that excitement. With exact setlists still in the works, sources suggest that Drake may perform some of his albums in full for the first time during his three-night stint.

This won’t be Drake’s first appearance at Wireless, though. He made a surprise cameo during Future’s set in 2021, but this will mark his return to a major headlining role. His last UK tour was in 2019, when he performed seven nights at London’s O2 Arena as part of his Assassination Vacation Tour.

The Wireless Festival performance will not only mark a triumphant return to the stage but also serve as a potential moment for Drake to address the tension with Lamar, both musically and personally, in what is becoming one of the most talked-about rivalries in hip-hop history.
