TikTok user shares warning after pizza order goes missing

DoorDash, a convenient solution for food delivery, recently faced scrutiny as a TikTok user, J Mist, shared a cautionary tale about a potential “scam” involving a delivery driver.

J Mist had ordered pizza for her family through DoorDash, providing clear instructions for the driver to hand-deliver the food directly to her. Despite specific guidance, the delivery took an unexpected turn.

In a TikTok video, J Mist explained that she received an “order complete” notification accompanied by a photo of the pizza left outside her door. Expressing frustration, she emphasized that the food was meant to be handed to her personally.

To her dismay, upon going to collect the dinner, she discovered it was missing. Analyzing the photo provided by the driver, J Mist pointed out how the pizza box appeared carelessly placed on a ledge, hanging halfway off. This led her to suspect that the driver might have staged the photo before taking the food back.

Expressing her frustration, J Mist speculated, “She probably took it for her kids, cause her kids gotta eat too, I understand. But damn, my kids gotta eat, too. And you were gonna do me like that?”

J Mist confronted the driver about the missing order, highlighting the specific delivery instructions she had provided. DoorDash intervened by refunding her credits, though the resolution came late, leaving J Mist with little energy to reorder. She humorously noted, “I just ate some barbecue chips. I had barbecue chips for dinner.”

DoorDash responded in the video’s comments, expressing regret over the lost order and advising J Mist to contact them via email.

This incident serves as a reminder for customers to remain vigilant and emphasizes the importance of clear communication with delivery drivers for a smooth and satisfactory experience.
