The controversial joke that Disney asked to be cut from Deadpool & Wolverine has now been revealed following the release of the film’s official script

A previously cut joke from Deadpool & Wolverine that Disney requested to be removed has now been unveiled. In the weeks leading up to the film’s release, MCU actor Ryan Reynolds confirmed that there was one particular line of dialogue that Disney asked not to include in the movie.

The joke, which has now surfaced through the Disney FYC online portal, comes shortly after Wade Wilson (Deadpool) learns that Magneto is dead. Deadpool, breaking the fourth wall, turns to the camera and quips, “F—k! What, we can’t even afford one more X-Man? Disney is so cheap. I can barely breathe with all this Mickey Mouse c—k in my throat.” The line humorously critiques Disney’s corporate influence over the X-Men franchise, making a sharp jab at the company’s dominance in the film industry.

Director Shawn Levy previously confirmed that Disney had asked the filmmakers to remove one specific line from the movie. In an August 2024 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Levy explained that the filmmakers were generally given creative freedom, but this line was an exception. Levy also hinted at a humorous replacement, revealing that the cut line was swapped for an equally audacious joke about Pinocchio’s nose growing after shoving his face into Deadpool’s behind.

This incident highlights the ongoing tension between Deadpool’s characteristic irreverence and Disney’s family-friendly brand image. Despite the change, the film still maintains the bold humour that fans have come to expect from the character. Deadpool & Wolverine, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, is now available to stream on Disney+.
