Chris Pratt thanks god for his home’s survival while acknowledging the destruction around him.

Chris Pratt has expressed a mix of relief and sadness after discovering that his Los Angeles home survived the devastating wildfires that ravaged the Pacific Palisades area. The Avengers: Endgame star took to Instagram on Wednesday to share the news with his followers, revealing that his property had been spared while reflecting on the widespread damage caused by the fires.

In a video filmed from his SUV after surveying the area, Pratt said, “By the grace of God, we have four walls and a roof.” However, despite his home’s survival, he acknowledged the immense loss experienced by his community, including the destruction of his son Jack’s school and the $5 million mansion owned by his ex-wife, Anna Faris, in the same area.

The wildfires, which broke out earlier in January, have caused widespread devastation across Los Angeles County, leaving many homes destroyed in their wake. As of Wednesday evening, the Pacific Palisades fire was reported to be 70% contained, while the Eaton fire in Altadena had reached 95% containment. However, a new blaze near Castaic Lake remains a significant threat, with just 5% of it contained.

Faris, who shares son Jack with Pratt, purchased her Pacific Palisades mansion in 2019, two years after their separation. The former couple, who finalized their divorce in 2018, has since moved on with their respective lives. Pratt remarried Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019, and they now share three children.

Pratt, visibly somber in his video, also expressed deep gratitude for his family’s safety but acknowledged the far-reaching impact of the fires. “The community’s gone. My son’s school is gone. Dozens of our friends lost their homes,” he remarked. The actor’s heartfelt message highlighted the devastation that continues to unfold in the region.

Despite the personal and communal losses, Pratt ended his video on a note of resilience. “It’s been a tough few weeks, but we’re resilient,” he said. “Praying for LA and all those impacted. We’ll get through this together. God bless.”

The actor’s message struck a chord with many, as the fires continue to threaten the lives and homes of countless individuals in the area. With recovery efforts underway, many are holding on to hope as they navigate the devastation caused by these catastrophic events.
