Camila Cabello had a warm response as Fifth Harmony reunited on stage without her after seven years
Camila Cabello has shown nothing but support for her former Fifth Harmony bandmates after they reunited on stage without her for the first time in seven years.
Ally Brooke, Normani, Lauren Jauregui and Dinah Jane joined forces at the Jonas Brothers’ Dallas concert on August 31, sending fans into a frenzy as they performed their 2015 hit Worth It. The four singers wore coordinating black outfits and delivered the trademark choreography that made them one of the defining girl groups of the 2010s.
“Where were you on August 31, 2025?” the group asked in a playful caption to the reunion video posted on Instagram. “Thank you @jonasbrothers for having us. Felt amazing to be back.”
Cabello, who co-founded the group in 2012 before leaving in 2016, made her feelings clear by commenting on the post with four heart emojis — a simple but telling show of affection for her old bandmates. The Señorita singer, now 28, chose not to join the reunion but was quick to let fans know she was celebrating from afar.
Fifth Harmony officially split in 2018, two years after Cabello’s high-profile departure to pursue a solo career. Her exit had sparked speculation of tension within the group at the time, but her warm response to the reunion suggests bridges have been rebuilt.
The Dallas performance surprised many, but Dinah Jane had hinted earlier this year that the group’s music was enjoying a revival. “I love that our fans can reminisce on such good times and I love that we’re getting the credit again,” she told Billboard in March. “Our music was very impactful at the time and I feel like it was kind of overlooked. Now that it’s reviving on its own, it just shows our music speaks for itself.”
Cabello, meanwhile, has spoken candidly about why she left the group at the height of its success. On the Call Her Daddy podcast earlier this year, she explained: “I had such a passion that turned into writing. At first I thought maybe I wanted to write for other people, but then it turned into, ‘No, I actually want to sing these songs myself.’ I started distancing myself from the group vision, and it felt like they were still really passionate about that. I just wasn’t happy anymore — it didn’t feel aligned.”
Since striking out solo, Cabello has built a career with hits like Havana and Never Be the Same, as well as venturing into acting with her leading role in Cinderella. Her career trajectory has run parallel to those of her former bandmates, who have each pursued music in different ways while fans have clung to hopes of a reunion.
That hope was finally realised in Dallas — albeit without Cabello on stage. But her public show of support seems to have reassured fans that any past friction is behind them.
The reunion also sparked waves of nostalgia across social media. Fans posted old clips of the group’s rise through The X Factor USA in 2012, where they were formed by Simon Cowell, through to their chart-topping years with hits like Work from Home. Many described the surprise performance as “iconic” and “healing” for long-time supporters of the band.
While it remains unclear if Fifth Harmony will reunite again for more performances, their Dallas appearance — and Cabello’s supportive reaction — have reminded fans of the group’s enduring impact.
For now, the moment belongs to four members reliving their past on stage, and one who cheered them on from afar with a string of heart emojis that spoke louder than words.
