Star of “back in action” slams false claims surrounding her collaboration with Jamie Foxx

Cameron Diaz has vehemently addressed rumors suggesting she wanted to quit acting after working with Jamie Foxx, particularly during the filming of their upcoming Netflix comedy, “Back in Action.” The actress, known for her roles in “Shrek” and “Charlie’s Angels,” expressed frustration with the baseless claims that her collaboration with Foxx was a negative experience.

In 2018, Cameron Diaz announced her decision to step away from acting, with “Annie” (2021) being declared her last movie to make her life more manageable. However, she returned to the screen for “Back in Action,” only to face rumors of discontent on set, implying that Foxx was the reason behind her supposed desire to quit acting.

Diaz, appearing on the Lipstick on the Rim podcast, vehemently refuted the rumors, stating, “I really hate all of the things that were being said about our set at the time. You just want to scream at the top of your lungs, like, ‘What are you talking about?'” She emphasized that she had a fantastic time working with Foxx and described him as a professional and a joy to work with.

Addressing the allegations of Foxx’s behavior on set, Diaz praised Foxx, stating, “Jamie is, like, the cheerleader for the entire crew. Everybody loves him. We have so much fun on the set with him, and he’s just a professional on every level.” She added, “Jamie is the best. I love that guy so much. He’s such a special person and he’s so talented, so much fun.”

Diaz revealed that she directly spoke to Foxx about her distress over the rumors, and he assured her, “We know the truth.” Despite Foxx’s reassurance, Diaz expressed her anger at the false claims.

“Back in Action” is an action comedy featuring Diaz and Foxx in leading roles, joined by Glenn Close, Kyle Chandler, and Andrew Scott. Foxx faced a medical emergency towards the end of production, leading to the temporary use of body doubles. Foxx has since thanked fans for their support, stating, “Feeling blessed.”
