A British couple experienced the surprise of a lifetime when they arrived at their dream vacation destination, only to discover that they were the exclusive occupants of a luxurious, all-inclusive five-star resort.

We’ve all been through the hassle of waking up early on holiday to secure the best poolside sun loungers. It’s an unnecessarily stressful routine during what should be a time of relaxation. However, for one fortunate couple, this was not an issue at the Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos in Mexico, where they found themselves as the sole guests.

Cameron and his wife, upon reaching the opulent resort, initially thought it was some sort of prank. Documenting the surreal experience on TikTok (@freedomhustle), Cameron shared footage of empty sun loungers, a deserted pool, and other outdoor areas with only the resort staff present. While the idea of having an entire five-star resort to themselves sounded appealing, Cameron conveyed the eerie and unusual nature of being the only guests alongside his partner.

Initially finding it amusing, the couple’s enjoyment turned into unease as the days passed. Instead of basking in the luxury with a cocktail in hand, Cameron’s curiosity led him to explore the resort in search of signs of life.

Despite his efforts, the search yielded no results. “Every time I think I see someone that’s not wearing a white uniform, I get excited, only to realise, no, just more contractors working on the place. Which, again, was kind of cool, until it wasn’t,” Cameron explained.

As the realisation set in that they were the only guests, Cameron began contemplating the financial logistics of maintaining such a vast resort. “How is this place paying for all these lights?” he questioned in the video. “How are these fire pits being lit all day, all night for us? Who is paying for all this? This entire kingdom is just for us.”

Upon the resort’s response to the viral video, Melissa Wisenbaker assured that Velas Resorts can operate at full capacity regardless of the number of guests. She stated, “Velas Resorts operate at 100% regardless of the number of actual guests staying on property. That is a staff to guest ratio of 3 to 1, versus at many other resorts that are the opposite (3 guests to every 1 staff).
