At West Midlands Safari Park, the arrival of Mtembei, a baby giraffe born on May 29, has captivated both staff and visitors alike. The calf quickly won hearts with his playful demeanour and adorable antics. Two weeks after his birth, Mtembei was introduced to the larger giraffe enclosure, marking his official debut with the herd.

Lisa Watkins, the headkeeper of ungulates at the park, expressed delight over Mtembei’s progress, stating, “Mtembei is two weeks old now and is thriving. The team is thrilled to have him join the herd, exploring his new environment and interacting with visitors as they tour the Safari.”

During his first outing, Mtembei exhibited boundless energy, joyously galloping around the paddock, stretching his legs and eagerly greeting the other giraffes. Despite initial shyness, he quickly adapted to his surroundings and began showcasing his personality, much to the delight of onlookers.
