Winton Wanderers celebrate as Angry Ginge becomes king of the jungle in I’m A Celebrity 2025

Young footballers from Salford have celebrated one of their own after YouTuber and streamer Angry Ginge was crowned the winner of I am A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. The twenty four year old creator, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, claimed the title after a gruelling three week stint in the Australian jungle and his local club could not be prouder.

Ginge grew up in Salford and had watched the reality show as a child before ever imagining he might one day take part. Now he has returned as the new King of the Jungle after beating Bury actress Lisa Riley and Manchester rapper Aitch in the final. His win has thrilled the young players he coaches at Winton Wanderers in Eccles who gathered together to watch the result unfold on Sunday evening.

Angry Ginge told presenters Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly that winning felt surreal. He described the experience as a dream come true and admitted that the novelty of calling himself King of the Jungle had barely begun to sink in. He also shared that the first thing he wanted to do after leaving the show was to visit his nana who he had not yet spoken to since returning from camp.

Back home the celebrations were loud and emotional. Young players at Winton Wanderers cheered him on with pride as they watched the final together. Ginge once played for the club before his social media career took off and he still coaches their Under eighteen Yanited team. One young player said he was delighted because Ginge had brought it home for the team. Another said he had brought it home for the Winton lads.

Asked whether he had a message for his squad Ginge did not hesitate. He urged them to stay committed to their training and reminded them of their five kilometre runs as they chase a title this season. His playful warning brought laughter from those watching at the club who see him not only as a coach but as a role model.

Lee Egan who is the chairman of Winton Wanderers said Ginge had always been a fan of the series and that the win would mean everything to him. He said the club was incredibly proud and that simply being selected to take part in the show was a major achievement. Winning the title however took things to an entirely different level.

Treasurer Patrick Pollock agreed and said the victory would inspire the young people who train at the club. He spoke about the pride felt across the community and added that moments like this rarely happen in the area which made Ginge’s win all the more special. Children had filled the clubhouse on the day of the final and many had anxiously waited for the result.

Ginge later thanked everyone in Manchester and the surrounding area for their support. He said he loved each person who voted for him and insisted his supporters were the real kings and queens. The social media star has gathered a following of nearly two million people online and his win has clearly strengthened his bond with local fans.

Manchester Central MP and Deputy Labour Leader Lucy Powell also shared her congratulations. She posted that the series felt very Mancunian and praised Ginge along with Aitch and the other finalists.

The final also saw Celebs Go Dating receptionist Tom Read Wilson finish as runner up while former EastEnders actress Shona McGarty took third place. For Ginge the victory marks a remarkable moment in a journey that began on Salford playing fields and has now reached audiences across the country. His club believes he has done it for Winton and their celebrations show just how much his triumph means
