The “Someone Like You” singer takes to Instagram to announce a break from her residency after falling ill
Adele, the British powerhouse vocalist, has left fans disappointed after announcing the postponement of ten shows in her Las Vegas residency. The “Someone Like You” singer took to Instagram to share the news, revealing that a recent illness has taken a toll on her voice, prompting her to go on vocal rest as per her doctor’s orders.
With only 20 shows remaining in her Las Vegas stint, Adele expressed her sadness at having to pause her residency. “I was sick at the end of the last leg and all through my break,” she explained. “I hadn’t quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed, and now I’m sick again, and unfortunately, it’s taken a toll on my voice.”

Adele assured her fans that her team is working on rescheduling these dates and promised to provide updated information as soon as possible.
Adele’s vocal issues are not new; she previously underwent surgery for polyps on her throat in 2011 and has faced vocal cord challenges in the past. During a recent performance, she admitted to her audience that she was struggling with her voice, comparing herself to Ursula from Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.” She announced that she would be going on complete voice rest after the show, a challenging feat for the chatty superstar.
After wrapping up her Las Vegas residency, Adele is scheduled to embark on a series of ten stadium shows in Munich, Germany. Fans are hopeful that the singer will recover swiftly and return to the stage to deliver the powerful performances she is known for.
