Jamie Park files for full physical custody of their daughter as Post Malone moves on with a new flame
Post Malone is caught in an escalating custody dispute with his former fiancée, Hee Sung “Jamie” Park, as the mother of his young daughter seeks full physical custody following their quiet split.
Court documents filed on Wednesday at the Los Angeles Superior Court reveal Park’s intention to secure primary physical custody of their two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, who is identified only by her initials, DDP. According to People Magazine, Park is also requesting joint legal custody, allowing both parents a say in decisions affecting their child’s upbringing, but she wants Malone to cover her legal fees and is offering him visitation rights.
Though the couple never made a public birth announcement, Post Malone confirmed his daughter’s arrival in a 2022 radio interview with Howard Stern, casually mentioning, “I woke up at 2:30 p.m., went and kissed my baby girl.” The rapper, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, has maintained an extremely private stance on his personal life, keeping his relationship with Park out of the public eye until the current legal proceedings brought it into the spotlight.
Malone and Park welcomed their daughter in May 2022, shortly after the rapper announced they were expecting. At the time, he told reporters he was “excited for this next chapter in life,” hinting at a shift in priorities and a focus on fatherhood. But since then, the narrative has changed.
The custody filings arrive amid speculation surrounding Malone’s romantic life. In March, the artist was photographed in Paris with Christy Lee, a student at the Parsons School of Design in New York City. Sources suggest Malone and Lee have been together “since at least the beginning of this year,” and their appearance together at upscale restaurant Beefbar further fuelled rumours that his relationship with Park had quietly ended months prior.
TMZ reported that Malone called off the engagement to Park toward the end of 2024. With neither party issuing a formal statement about their breakup, many fans were unaware of the split until the custody case surfaced. Lee, who has interned with celebrity stylist Kristina Askerova, is said to have developed close ties in celebrity fashion circles, increasing her visibility as Malone’s apparent new partner.
Now, the rapper finds himself at the centre of a legal and emotional crossroads. Park’s legal team has stated that she is prioritising stability and consistency for their daughter, hoping to raise her in a calm and predictable environment. The request for full physical custody often implies the child would reside primarily with one parent, while the other maintains scheduled visits.
Legal experts note that the court will weigh several factors in determining custody, including each parent’s involvement in the child’s life so far, their capacity to provide care, and the overall wellbeing of the child. The line in the filing stating that the court may “issue an earnings assignment without further notice” suggests Park may also seek child support, although that has not yet been confirmed.
Post Malone, now 29, has yet to respond to the custody request publicly. He has long presented himself as a devoted father, once saying that his daughter “changed everything” for him. However, with the custody proceedings underway, he may soon need to address the situation more directly, particularly as it begins to overlap with his carefully guarded public persona.
As the legal process unfolds, all eyes remain on how the rapper navigates fatherhood, fame, and a private life now laid bare.
