On Wednesday, April 2, Witherspoon took to Instagram to share an exclusive sneak peek of the show, which is currently in production. The image features Lexi Minetree, the actress set to portray a young Elle Woods, chatting on the phone while lounging on her bed—a signature pose for the character. Witherspoon captioned the post: “Harvard was hard. High School was harder. Our new series, Elle, is now in production!”

Prime Video first announced the project in May 2024, partnering with Witherspoon’s media company, Hello Sunshine, to bring Elle Woods’ teenage years to the screen. The series promises to explore the formative experiences that turned Elle into the pink-powered, legally savvy icon fans fell in love with in Legally Blonde.

Witherspoon, who serves as an executive producer, expressed excitement about the project, saying: “Fans will get to know how Elle Woods navigated her world as a teenager with her distinct personality and ingenuity, in ways that only our beloved Elle could do. What could be better than that?!”
