Reese Witherspoon shares a first look at Elle, the Legally Blonde prequel, leaving fans buzzing
The blonde ambition is back—but not as you remember it. Reese Witherspoon has just dropped the first glimpse of Elle, the highly anticipated Legally Blonde prequel series, and fans are already divided.
On Wednesday, April 2, Witherspoon took to Instagram to share an exclusive sneak peek of the show, which is currently in production. The image features Lexi Minetree, the actress set to portray a young Elle Woods, chatting on the phone while lounging on her bed—a signature pose for the character. Witherspoon captioned the post: “Harvard was hard. High School was harder. Our new series, Elle, is now in production!”

The series promises to explore the formative experiences that turned Elle into the pink-powered, legally savvy icon fans fell in love with in Legally Blonde.
Witherspoon, who serves as an executive producer, expressed excitement about the project, saying: “Fans will get to know how Elle Woods navigated her world as a teenager with her distinct personality and ingenuity, in ways that only our beloved Elle could do. What could be better than that?!”
The reveal has sparked a frenzy online, with some fans thrilled to revisit Elle’s world, while others question whether a prequel can live up to the legacy of the original film. With production now underway, Elle is set to be one of the most talked-about series of the year.
