Meghan Markle unveiled her rebranded lifestyle brand, as ever, featuring Princess Lilibet in a key image.
Meghan Markle has sparked fresh controversy after featuring her three-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet, on the homepage of her newly rebranded lifestyle website, As Ever. While some praised the heartfelt moment, a royal expert has warned that Lilibet, who had no say in the matter, may one day regret being used as part of her mother’s brand image.
The Duchess of Sussex recently announced the transformation of her previous lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, into As Ever, revealing the change through a polished Instagram video. Among the carefully curated images was a touching photo of Meghan with Lilibet—a rare public glimpse of the young princess.
However, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams believes the decision could prove problematic in the future. Speaking to The Express, he questioned whether Lilibet would appreciate her image being used in such a public manner, given how fiercely Meghan and Prince Harry have previously guarded their children’s privacy.
“Meghan and Harry rarely allow their children to be seen. Lilibet is too young to protest,” Fitzwilliams stated. “However, when she looks back, I doubt her appearance on the As Ever website will be one of her favourite memories.”
The move has reignited debate over Meghan and Harry’s stance on media exposure. Since stepping down as senior royals, they have repeatedly criticised public scrutiny of their children, insisting they should have the right to grow up away from the spotlight. Yet, with As Ever, critics argue Meghan is now using Lilibet’s image to boost her brand’s emotional appeal.
Supporters of the Duchess defend the decision, suggesting it was a mother sharing a personal moment rather than a calculated branding strategy. Others, however, see it as an attempt to create a highly marketable, family-friendly image that could help As Ever stand out in an already crowded lifestyle industry.
The As Ever brand is expected to include products ranging from home décor to wellness items, mirroring Meghan’s former blog, The Tig. But with this latest move, the question remains—how much of Lilibet’s life will be kept private, and how much will be shared for the sake of branding? As speculation grows, one thing is clear—Princess Lilibet’s face is now tied to As Ever, whether she likes it or not.
