McLaren announces a major partnership with lottery giant Allwyn, strengthening their position ahead of the upcoming Formula 1 season

McLaren Racing has secured a landmark sponsorship deal with global lottery operator Allwyn, marking a significant move as they prepare for the 2025 Formula 1 season. The reigning Constructors’ Champions, who clinched their first title in 26 years last season, aim to build on their momentum with this strategic partnership. The agreement follows closely after Formula 1’s own multi-year collaboration with Allwyn, announced just a day prior.

McLaren’s success in 2024 saw Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri claim six race victories collectively, outpacing Ferrari and Red Bull. With expectations running high, the team is eager to end their long drought in the Drivers’ Championship, a title they last won in 2008 with Lewis Hamilton.

McLaren’s official statement confirmed that Allwyn’s branding will feature prominently on the team’s new 2025 F1 car and the race overalls of Norris and Piastri. Team CEO Zak Brown expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing its importance as McLaren and the sport continue to expand their global presence. “We are delighted to welcome Allwyn to the McLaren Racing family. Off the back of a fantastic 2024 season, it’s great to have an international brand like Allwyn join us at a time when the team – and the sport – is going from strength to strength. We’re excited to go racing together.”

Allwyn’s founder, Karel Komarek, echoed similar sentiments, calling the partnership a major step in Allwyn’s global growth strategy. “This exciting partnership – alongside the one we announced earlier this week with F1 – is a big step forward in Allwyn’s journey to expand its business and brand globally. Our collaboration with McLaren benefits from a shared drive to thrive, fueled by technology and with innovation at its heart; characteristics that will continue to power Allwyn’s global development.”

With McLaren’s performance at an all-time high and fresh financial backing, the team looks poised to challenge for the top spot once again in 2025.
