Viola Davis takes on terrorists in Prime Video’s latest action-packed thriller, G20, alongside Antony Starr and a star-studded cast
Prime Video has unveiled the first trailer for G20, an intense action thriller featuring Viola Davis in the lead role. Known for her commanding performances in How to Get Away with Murder, The Woman King, and the Suicide Squad films, Davis now steps into the role of the President of the United States.
The film follows Davis’s character as she arrives at the G20 Summit, accompanied by her family. Her teenage daughter recently made headlines for rebellious behaviour, prompting the President to bring her along. However, what should have been a diplomatic event turned into a nightmare when terrorists seized control of the Summit, placing world leaders and their loved ones in grave danger.
With a military background, the President refuses to be a passive hostage. Instead, she takes the fight to the terrorists, using her combat skills to outmanoeuvre and eliminate threats. The trailer teases heart-pounding action sequences reminiscent of classic thrillers like Air Force One and Die Hard, showcasing Davis’s character as she battles against overwhelming odds.
Joining Davis in this high-stakes thriller are Black-ish stars Anthony Anderson and Marsai Martin, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth actor Gideon Emery, and Agents of SHIELD alum Clark Gregg. The Boys star Antony Starr steps into the antagonist’s role, delivering a menacing performance as the terrorist leader.
Beyond G20, Davis is also set to star in Children of Blood and Bone, an adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s best-selling fantasy novel. Reuniting with The Woman King director Gina Prince-Bythewood, the film will feature Davis alongside Cynthia Erivo and Idris Elba, promising another powerhouse performance.
Prime Video’s G20 promises a gripping mix of political drama, intense action, and a fierce performance by Viola Davis, making it one of the must-watch action films of the year.
