Saudi Arabia Healthcare 2025: SR260 billion investment boosts bed capacity, mental health care, and emergency services

Saudi Arabia has unveiled ambitious plans to revolutionise its healthcare system, committing SR260 billion (£69.3 billion) to health and social development. By 2025, five new hospitals will open, adding 963 beds across key regions, including a state-of-the-art mental health facility in Riyadh. This investment aims to expand emergency care, strengthen early detection programmes, and integrate social services, marking a comprehensive effort to improve the well-being of citizens and residents alike.

A Major Boost for Healthcare Access

In an effort to meet the growing healthcare needs of its population, Saudi Arabia plans to increase bed capacity to 23 beds per 10,000 residents in targeted provinces. New hospitals will be established in Rijal Almaa, Dhahran Al-Janoub, Hail, Makkah, and Riyadh. These facilities are strategically placed to serve both urban and rural populations, ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare services.
