Two arrested following fatal XL bully dog attack in Slough

Police investigate deliberate attack on a dog, leading to charges including animal cruelty and drug-related offences

In a shocking incident in Slough, two men, aged 20 and 22, have been arrested following the fatal attack of an XL bully dog, believed to have been deliberately injured. The attack occurred in the Berkshire town around 6 p.m. on 29 September, leaving the animal critically injured and leading to its death after emergency medical treatment.

Thames Valley Police confirmed that both suspects were apprehended on Friday at a residence in Slough, where officers also discovered a quantity of cannabis. The police outlined a range of serious charges against the suspects: the 20-year-old faces accusations of criminal damage, causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, possession with intent to supply a Class B controlled drug, and possession of an offensive weapon. Meanwhile, the 22-year-old is charged with criminal damage, causing unnecessary suffering to the animal, and possession with intent to supply a Class B controlled drug.

In a related development, a 31-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled Class B drug. All three individuals have since been released on police bail, pending further investigations, which will continue until January 2025.
