Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded a successful two-day visit to Singapore, meeting with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to elevate the bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This visit marks a significant milestone in strengthening ties between the two nations.

Upon arrival, PM Modi received a ceremonial welcome at the Singapore Parliament House, where he also signed the visitor’s book. The subsequent meeting between Modi and Wong highlighted key areas of collaboration, including Advanced Manufacturing, Connectivity, Digitalisation, Healthcare & Medicine, Skills Development, and Sustainability.

Following their discussions, the leaders witnessed the signing of four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), underscoring the deepening of bilateral cooperation. PM Modi’s visit also included meetings with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong. Lee Hsien Loong will host a lunch for Modi, further cementing the strong ties between the two countries.

Additionally, PM Modi engaged with Singaporean business leaders and visited a semiconductor manufacturing facility, reflecting the strategic importance of this sector in their growing partnership.
