Chanaaz Mangroe, known as Channii Monroe, accuses Terius genteel-diamant, professionally known as The-Dream, of luring her into an abusive relationship under false promises of stardom

Chanaaz Mangroe, a musician who previously collaborated with The Dream, has filed a lawsuit against the Grammy-winning producer, alleging he engaged in sexual assault, rape, and other forms of abuse. Mangroe, who performs under the stage name Channii Monroe, claims that Terius Gesteelde-Diamant, also known as The Dream, enticed her into a relationship with promises of fame and success after she relocated from the Netherlands to the United States. The Dream denies these allegations.

Gesteelde-Diamant, a renowned writer and producer responsible for hits such as Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” and Rihanna’s “Umbrella,” is accused of subjecting Mangroe to physical assaults, violent sexual encounters, and psychological manipulation. According to the lawsuit, he allegedly exerted control over her career and personal life, promising to make her the next Beyoncé or Rihanna while demanding intimate details and complete obedience.

Mangrove claims that over the course of more than a year, she was coerced into using drugs and alcohol excessively, subjected to violent sexual acts without her consent, and isolated from others by the producer.

In her statement, Mangroe expressed her decision to speak out as a means of healing from the trauma inflicted upon her. The lawsuit, filed in the Los Angeles Federal Court, seeks damages for the harm caused to Mangroe’s career and well-being.
