Embracing their playful side, Ryan Gosling and Mikey Day appeared at the premiere of ‘The Fall Guy’ dressed as iconic ’90s characters Beavis and Butt-Head
In a surprising twist to the usual red carpet affair, Ryan Gosling and Mikey Day brought a dose of nostalgia and humour to the Los Angeles premiere of ‘The Fall Guy’ by dressing up as the infamous cartoon characters Beavis and Butt-Head. This unique appearance followed their successful portrayal of these characters in a recent ‘Saturday Night Live’ sketch.
The duo’s choice of attire was a stark contrast to the typical glamorous expectations of a premiere. Gosling first appeared in a mint green suit but later changed into a blonde wig and a blue “Death Rock” T-shirt, mirroring Beavis’s classic look. Mikey Day complemented him perfectly with a grey “Skull” T-shirt and a bucktoothed expression, capturing Butt-Head’s essence.
Their transformation into Beavis and Butt-Head was not just for laughs; it was a continuation of their parody from an SNL episode where they humorously distracted a news interview focusing on artificial intelligence. The sketch, featuring Heidi Gardner and Kenan Thompson, was a hit, adding a layer of pop culture commentary to the show.
Outside his comedic endeavours, Ryan Gosling continues to diversify his acting portfolio. In ‘The Fall Guy’, which is set to release on May 3, Gosling takes on the role of Hollywood stunt performer Colt Seavers. The film, which premiered at the 2024 SXSW Film Festival, has been praised as a “self-reflexive love letter to Hollywood stunt work” and showcases Gosling’s ability to blend comedic timing with romantic charm, particularly alongside co-star Emily Blunt.
This inventive red carpet choice by Gosling and Day highlights their willingness to engage with their roles in a fun and memorable way, promising that ‘The Fall Guy’ will deliver both entertainment and laughs
