Adding a P, a C, and a D, the puzzle evolved into “P _ N _ / _ R C _ _ D.” Viewers claim Megan quickly and accurately guessed ‘pink orchid.’ However, as the timer ran out, host Pat Sajak suggested she may have been “overthinking a type of orchid” and awarded her $14,007 instead.

Social media erupted with claims that Megan had indeed said ‘pink orchid’ in her initial guess. One user expressed frustration, stating, “The woman got screwed on #WheelOfFortune bonus puzzle tonight, she totally said ‘PINK ORCHID’ right at the start.”

In response to the controversy, Megan addressed the situation on Good Morning America, stating, “You know, I wish I said ‘pink’ because I would have been $40,000 richer. But I said ‘something.’”

She continued, “My son, the entire way home… ‘Mom, I can’t believe you didn’t get pink. I can’t believe you didn’t get pink.’ That word has already been haunting me, and now all of America believes that I said it, but I didn’t.”
