Two California men, Alex Stevens and Andrew Cordova, had their minds blown when they cracked open an old storage unit they had purchased for a mere $30, revealing an unexpected treasure trove.
Hailing from Northern California, Stevens and Cordova have garnered a substantial following of over 90,000 on TikTok by chronicling their adventures with abandoned storage units. Their TikTok page, dedicated to ‘buying abandoned storage units,’ has offered viewers a glimpse into their unique world. In a recent interview with Fox 5, Stevens shared that they typically invest around $5 in these storage units and often manage to make a profit ranging from $100 to $200 by selling the items they discover inside.

When they decided to explore the contents of their $30 investment, they found an assortment of clothing, including parachute pants, fur coats, and an old Mac computer. In any other context, these items might merely be seen as a reflection of eccentric fashion tastes.
Yet, what truly piqued the interest of Stevens and Cordova was what they found alongside the clothing. Tucked away in the unit were over 30 master tapes labelled “Death Row Records,” potentially containing unreleased music from legendary artists like MC Hammer, DJ Quick, and Snoop Dogg.
Following this incredible discovery, individuals claiming to represent Death Row Records, which MC Hammer was signed to in the 1990s, reached out to Stevens and Cordova expressing interest in purchasing some of the items. However, no final deal has been struck yet.
If these items are indeed authentic, the duo believes they could be worth millions, an astonishing return on their $30 investment. However, they remain cautious, acknowledging that when something seems too good to be true, it usually is.
Stevens stated, “Until I actually hear from MC Hammer himself or Snoop Dogg, I don’t believe it.”
Interestingly, MC Hammer himself has commented on the discovery after a user inquired whether he would “get [his things] back.” In response, MC Hammer wrote, “If this be truth a man spent $50 for such a gift are they not his? God bless him.”
Nonetheless, Stevens emphasised the need for further authentication, stating, “People claim to be managers, but all we have is the documentation, the tapes, and people are contacting me [claiming to be] affiliated with them. So obviously, something’s going on to where it’s related.”
Regardless of the outcome, Cordova expressed his satisfaction with the purchase of the storage unit, remarking, “It’s amazing. You just don’t know what you’re gonna find when you get inside the unit, but this is probably one of our most amazing finds.
