As the Oscar buzz surrounds his latest venture, “Killers of the Flower Moon,” which has garnered nominations for Best Picture and Best Director, Martin Scorsese let the cat out of the bag. Unlike some artists who can’t bear to witness their finished works, Scorsese’s reluctance stems from a more practical concern – his height.

“I don’t do that. People talk and move around a lot. I’m short, and there’s always a big person in front of me,” admitted the legendary director, unveiling the mystery shrouding his cinema attendance.

While some might find this revelation unexpectedly mundane, it provides a glimpse into the human side of a director known for his larger-than-life cinematic creations. Scorsese’s candid acknowledgement of the struggles faced in crowded theatres resonates with those who have ever found themselves challenged by inconvenient seating.

Diving further into his cinematic preferences, Scorsese expressed a preference for IMAX screenings as he ages. “You go in, you can sit up in the back, and you’re sort of looking up,” he shared, emphasizing the practicality of the viewing experience.

The director also shared his observations on the evolving cinema culture, noting, “Regular screenings, I have found the audiences becoming a bit more raucous than they used to be. But maybe it’s always like in the ’50s when we used to yell back at the screen.”

Despite his personal viewing quirks, Scorsese remained firm on the importance of supporting films on the big screen. “It’s very important to me to support films while they’re on the big screen. I just wait a while,” he asserted.
