Rapper collaborates with ‘Father of Diamond Dentistry’ for experimental ‘fixed-prosthodontics’

Kanye West, known for his extravagant ventures, reportedly spent a whopping $850,000 on experimental dentures that transcend traditional veneers or grills. The rapper’s dental implants, termed ‘fixed-prosthodontics,’ incorporate palladium and platinum materials, showcasing an artistic creation he designed in collaboration with medical and dental experts.

Contrary to expectations, Kanye West’s natural teeth remain intact despite the avant-garde dentures. The implants, described as “fixed and permanent,” are a product of West’s unique vision and the expertise of renowned dental professional Dr Thomas Connelly, also known as the ‘Father of Diamond Dentistry.’

A source revealed to Page Six, “They are, as the name suggests, fixed and permanent, but this goes way beyond veneers or grills. And his particular implant is quite unlike anything that has been done before.” Dr Connelly, in collaboration with Kanye West, manufactured and fitted the dentures, showcasing a groundbreaking approach to dental aesthetics.

Kanye West took to his Instagram Story, sharing his new look with his 18.7 million followers and drawing comparisons to James Bond villain Jaws, who sported similar metal implants in the iconic action films.

Dr Connelly spoke to the Daily Mail about the collaboration, stating, “Ye was a pleasure to work with at every step of the process. His vision for designing unique art transcends the dental progression. The marriage of his vision with dental science has created a new look that is epic.”

This isn’t the first time Kanye West has made headlines for dental extravagance. In 2010, he revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that he had replaced all of his bottom teeth with diamonds, citing his belief that diamonds were cooler.

The rapper’s eldest daughter, North West, seems to be following in her father’s footsteps. In a recent TikTok video with her mother, Kim Kardashian, North showcased flashy dental jewelry, reminiscent of Kim’s opal and diamond-covered teeth in 2021.
