Special report: High court enforcement officers make a surprise visit to Katie Price’s mucky mansion preceding upcoming bankruptcy hearing

High Court Enforcement Officers were recently seen paying a visit to Katie Price‘s residence, just days after the celebrity defended herself against critics questioning her spending habits.

Despite being declared bankrupt in 2019 with debts totaling £3.5 million, the 45-year-old star has managed to hold onto her West Sussex property amid ongoing financial challenges. Katie, a mother of five, was originally scheduled to attend a hearing regarding her bankruptcy earlier this month, but the proceedings have been rescheduled to the end of April at an insolvency court in London.

On Monday, enforcement agents were spotted in the car park of a local garden centre opposite Mucky Mansion, Katie’s family home. This sighting occurred less than a week after Katie responded vehemently to critics who questioned her decision to invest in pricey hair extensions, estimated at around £6,000, despite her bankruptcy status. Following a TikTok live stream where she showcased her new hair extensions, some fans accused her of being less than truthful about her financial situation.

In response, Katie fired back, saying, “We’ve all been there, yeah exactly don’t knock people, I don’t. You should never knock anybody that tries to make money to support their family and their kids.” She emphasised the challenges of running a household with five children, managing expenses, and juggling work commitments. Katie defended her right to indulge in personal expenses, stating, “And so what if I want to sit in my kitchen and get my hair done, but you get d*******s out there who go ‘urgh are you skint?'”

Last month, Katie, determined to “bring back her empire,” attended her latest bankruptcy hearing amidst speculation that she might have to sell her Sussex home to settle her debts. Purchased for £1.3 million approximately nine years ago, Mucky Mansion is now estimated to be worth around £2 million after renovations featured in a Channel 4 series.

A significant portion of Katie’s £3.265 million debt is tied to mortgages on the property. Despite listing the eight-bedroom house for rent at £6,000 per month, issues like a mouldy bathroom and rumours of hauntings have reportedly deterred potential renters. The Mirror previously revealed Katie’s intention to rent out the mansion, citing its size as impractical for her and expressing concerns about bad luck associated with the property.

The West Sussex mansion, acquired in 2014 at the height of Katie’s fame, underwent substantial neglect, flooding, and financial troubles. The Channel 4 series, “Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion,” documented the transformation of the vandalised mansion into a dream home for her family. Although a third series was planned, it was cancelled due to a drop in viewership.

In July, a court hearing disclosed that Katie had breached a payment agreement, as she allegedly failed to meet the agreed-upon £12,000 monthly payment through an individual voluntary arrangement. In September, forensic investigators began looking into the funding of Katie Price’s extravagant lifestyle, leaving no stone unturned to understand her financial situation.

Despite enjoying numerous holidays and luxury trips, Katie maintains that being declared bankrupt is “not the end of the world.” She sees the bankruptcy as an opportunity to reevaluate her life, stating, “I think it’s quite good I am in a bankruptcy, it’s made me reevaluate things. Everything in my life is now in place, never be embarrassed about being in a bankruptcy.”
