John Schneider’s deleted tweet sparks outrage as he responds to President Biden’s remarks

Actor John Schneider, known for his role as Bo Duke on the iconic TV series Dukes of Hazzard, is facing severe backlash after making controversial comments about President Joe Biden on social media. The 63-year-old actor, who recently appeared on The Masked Singer, responded to a tweet by President Biden criticizing former president Donald Trump.

In a now-deleted tweet, Schneider wrote, “Mr. President, I believe you are guilty of treason and should be publicly hung. Your son too. Your response is..? Sincerely, John Schneider.” The comments, suggesting violence against the sitting president and his son, have ignited a firestorm of criticism online.

Many social media users condemned Schneider for his remarks, with some pointing out the serious nature of his statements. Investigative journalist Victoria Brownworth corrected Schneider’s grammar and commented on the lack of evidence for treason. Others expressed concern and called for the Secret Service to investigate the matter.

According to reports, the Secret Service has initiated a preliminary investigation into Schneider’s comments. Threatening bodily harm to the president is a serious offense under federal law and can result in fines or up to five years in prison.

In response to the controversy, Schneider released a statement denying that he advocated for violence against President Biden. He emphasized his right to express his opinions and criticized what he perceives as corruption among the nation’s leaders. Despite the statement, Schneider’s comments have fueled a broader conversation about the boundaries of free speech and responsible discourse in the age of social media.
