Michael Greco, known for his role as Beppe di Marco, thrilled to welcome another miracle baby
In a heartwarming announcement, EastEnders icon Michael Greco has revealed that he and his partner are expecting their second child. At the age of 53, the beloved soap legend took to Instagram to share the joyous news, posting an ultrasound image with a touching caption expressing his excitement.
The post read, “Absolutely over the moon to announce another Baby Greco is on the way. My beautiful boy Gianluca cannot wait to see his younger sibling. Thank you, God, for giving me another miracle baby. See you in June Bubba.”
Greco, best known for portraying Beppe di Marco on EastEnders, received an outpouring of congratulations from both fans and former co-stars. Dean Gaffney, another EastEnders actor, humorously commented, “You’re like a bus mate, wait 50 years and two come in succession!” Fans joined in the celebration, expressing their happiness for the expanding Greco family.
This delightful news follows Michael Greco’s first experience with fatherhood in July 2021 when he welcomed his son Gianluca with girlfriend Helen Harris. Gianluca’s premature birth, weighing just 4.47lbs, required immediate attention and care. The name Gianluca, meaning ‘gift of God’ in Italian, was chosen with love and significance.
The actor shared the challenges they faced, stating, “The little man was born prematurely due to the fact that previous scans had failed to pick up his rare birth defect called Gastroschisis. The consultant suggested it was best for him to be born early so that he could get the necessary care and attention.”
Gianluca underwent his first operation to address a bowel-related issue and is currently receiving world-class care at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Greco expressed his gratitude to the hospital staff, describing the experience as “by far the best day of my life.”
As the Greco family prepares to welcome their new member in June, fans and colleagues alike are sending their warm wishes for a healthy and joyous journey ahead.
