Britons demand transparency as Morgan identifies royals accused of racist remarks on Archie’s skin color

In a recent revelation on his TV show, Piers Morgan boldly disclosed the names of two senior members of the royal family accused of making derogatory comments about the skin colour of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son, Archie. Omid Scobie’s book “Endgame,” closely linked to Harry and Meghan, had initially omitted the identities, but a Dutch version with additional details has triggered a widespread call for transparency.

Morgan stated the names on his show, emphasizing, “If Dutch people wandering into a bookshop can see these names, then you, the British people who actually pay for the royal family are entitled to know, too.”

The controversy arose when thousands of copies of the book in the Netherlands were set to be pulped due to an extra paragraph revealing the identities. Speculation surrounds whether this incident was a publicity stunt to boost sales.

Morgan criticized the “spiteful” nature of Scobie’s book and expressed skepticism about the allegations without concrete evidence. While the Dutch version caused a stir, the British public now awaits further clarification.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex first made these claims during an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. Meghan shared details of conversations regarding Archie’s security, title, and concerns about the potential darkness of his skin during pregnancy months.

The couple did not identify the royal involved but emphasized it was not the late Queen or the Duke of Edinburgh. Royal commentator Michael Cole raised questions about the incident, calling the racism charge pernicious and potentially orchestrated for book sales.

Amidst debates about translation errors and the nature of the revelation, public scrutiny continues, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability within the royal family.
